Alexandra Sabbagh, MSN, APRN-CNP
Alexa’s journey in healthcare began as a bedside nurse on the orthopedic and trauma unit at Corewell Health Dearborn, where she cared for a wide variety of patients with complex medical conditions. During her three years as a registered nurse, she gained valuable experience in post-operative care, trauma management, and caring for medically complex patients, which helped to strengthen her critical thinking skills in such a fast-paced environment. In 2022, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Oakland University. She continued her education at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, earning her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2025.
When asked what drew her to cardiology, Alexa shared that she has always been interested in the heart and the impact cardiac care can have on patients' lives. She loves
that every day is different and enjoys building long-term relationships with patients while helping them manage both acute and chronic heart conditions. Alexa joined AH&VC in 2026 and describes her first few months with the practice as nothing short of amazing. As a new graduate nurse practitioner, she credits the cardiologists at AH&VC for creating a welcoming, supportive, and encouraging environment. Their willingness to teach and share their practical knowledge has helped her transition into practice. Alexa is grateful for the opportunity to learn from their mentorship and appreciates how much she has grown in her cardiology knowledge and clinical experience over such a short period of time. She looks forward to continuing to work alongside them and building on what she’s learned as she gains experience and confidence in her role as a nurse practitioner.
Get to Know Me (:
In her free time, Alexa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping, and working out. Staying active has always been a big part of her life. During college she played Division I soccer at Oakland University, an experience that taught her discipline, resilience, and the importance of teamwork. One of her favorite trips was to California with her best friends to see Coldplay in concert, a trip she describes as one she'll never forget. If she weren't a nurse practitioner, Alexa could see herself becoming a veterinarian because of her love for animals. She has two inseparable tabby cats that she absolutely adores. Alexa is most proud of becoming a nurse practitioner at such a young age and as the first person in her family to pursue a career in healthcare. She’s especially proud of successfully transitioning into cardiology, a specialty she entered without a strong background but quickly grew to love.
She believes the most important part of patient care is making every patient feel heard and cared for. Her time as a bedside nurse taught her that compassion, taking the time to listen, and building trust can make all the difference. When asked what she wants her patients to know, she said, “Patients may not remember every detail medically, but they’ll remember how you made them feel. I always try to make my patients feel comfortable, supported, and cared for during their time with me.”
